With Headquarters located in UAE, Enviro-Resources FZE, the Brac distributor for the Middle East, has confirmed a deal with one of the region's largest Developers to supply six Commercial Greywater systems for installation in a 500 man labour camp on the Palm Jumairah. Enviro-Resources FZE, whos core business is distribution of environmentally sound & sustainable systems such as waterless sanitation, landfill cleanup systems, and now greywater recycling, operates out of the Emirate of Fujairah and has Business Development Managers in place to cover the GCC Countries.

Brac Systems featured in Barrie Ontario's six o’clock A-Channel TV news

The Brac System was featured in a segment of the A-Channel six o’clock evening news on February 14, 2008. Chris Thompson of the Install Team, Ontario Distributor for Brac Systems, presented his home installation of the RGW-250 in this two and a half minute feature. First BRAC System installed on South American soil.

In January 2008, the Buildings System Technician & Civil Engineering programs of the Cégep de l’Outaouais (a college in Quebec, Canada), in collaboration with Escouade Caravan, took part in a humanitarian effort to install water infrastructures in Lima, Peru. The highlight of this high-profile effort, overseen & approved by the Government of Peru, included the installation of a Brac Greywater Recycling System (RGW-350) in a shelter for abused women & children.

Brac Systems would like to extend thanks to Marc Desmarais from the Cégep de l’Outaouais (pictured second from left) for his efforts, along with Nobel Prize nominee Rosa Duenas Morales, from Recare, for spearheading this humanitarian effort in Peru.

CCA to Outfit Arizona Facility with Brac Commercial Grey Water Recycling Systems.

In keeping with their goal to reduce high water consumption, Corrections Corporation of America has purchased 57 Brac commercial grey water recycling systems, model CGW-6600, for their new detention facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

This significant purchase is a sign of a strong working relationship between these two companies.

CCA purchases 15 CGW-6600’s.

In September 2007, Corrections Corporation of America ordered 15 Brac Commercial Greywater Recycling Systems (CGW-6600) for one of their new correction facilities in Natchez, Mississippi to help reduce their high water consumption. CCA collaborated with Brac Systems Inc. earlier in 2007 to design a commercial greywater system specific to their needs. Brac took on that challenge and developed the CGW line, not just for prisons but for the entire commercial market.

Brac Systems in the News!

In a "Greener Homes" segment on Monday night's Global TV BC News, the Brac Greywater Recycling System was featured as one of the most important green technologies in the Peters' family home, currently under construction in Langley, BC.

Additionally, the Langley Times ran an article on November 21/07 about their decision to install a Brac System. The Langley Advance ran their story about the Peters on November 23rd. A big thanks goes out to the Peters' family for their hard work and determination in getting the installation approved in the Township of Langley!

New Brac models pass IAPMO testing

Brac's new residential (RGW) and commercial (CGW) models of greywater recycling systems passed a battery of compliance testing last week by IAPMO R&T. Our new systems are now compliant with the IGC 207 (US) and CSA B128 (Canada) standards for greywater recycling systems. We will be updating our website over the next week to include more information on the new systems. Our updates should be complete by November 15, and as soon as we receive our updated IAPMO certificate, we will begin using the US/Canadian compliance marks.

Brac Systems highlighted in BC Homes Magazine

Brac Systems is highlighted in the Fall issue of BC Homes Magazine (page 58), a quarterly publication of the Canadian Home Builders Association of British Columbia. In addition, greywater recycling has been added to the Built Green Checklist of BC and Alberta. Installation of our recycling systems can earn as many as six points on the "Water Conservation" section of the checklist, leaving only one more point needed to complete the section's minimum of seven points.

After a rigorous round of compliance testing by IAPMO R&T, Brac Systems' IAPMO Certificate of Listing has been updated to reflect our compliance with CSA B128-2006. This development will remove many obstacles in both the Canadian and US markets. The updated certificate can be downloaded from IAPMO here.

S.A.V.E. to give away a Brac system in drawing

Student Advocates for Valuing the Environment Foundation (S.A.V.E.), an environmental advocacy group based in Helena, Montana, will be displaying a W-200 system throughout the state over the coming months, and will give away the system in a drawing on April 22, 2008, which is Earth Day. S.A.V.E. was instrumental in pushing for the passage of Montana's new greywater legislation (see "Montana enacts greywater legislation" below), and is holding the drawing to promote the new law. Brevard County, Florida, gives approval

Florida’s Showcase Green Envirohome is the first residence in the state of Florida to have a Graywater Reuse System installed for in-home use. Brevard County’s Permitting and Enforcement Department approved this system on April 24, 2007 based on the 2004 FBC plumbing code for gray water recycling systems.

Montana enacts greywater legislation

Governor Schweitzer signed HB 259 into law last month, which will become effective on October 01, 2007. The new law authorizes the use of greywater recycling systems in private single-family homes (except in flood plains), and allows reuse for outdoor irrigation, with the exception of watering plants for human consumption. Brac Systems participated in the two-day Mécanex Climatex trade show, a B to B mechanical trade show and conference last week at the Place Bonaventure in Montreal. Brac won the New Product award in the Energy Efficiency category. With the award comes bragging rights, as well as some free advertising in multiple magazines. Our booth at the show was manned by Ronald Arsenault, VP Product Development Brac Systems Inc and President Brac Quebec Inc. and Emmanuel Brien Technical Director Brac Systems Inc.

Approvals in Colorado

Alachua County, FL, accepts Brac Systems

After review of provisions of the Florida Building Code, an Alachua County, Florida, building official has issued an opinion that the Brac Greywater Recycling System is accepted for residential installation within the county. Celebrity installs Brac System in Quebec home

The Great Zazou (Vincent Potel, pictured) recently installed a Brac System in his home, a 1929 three-story multiplex in Montreal. This is the first residential retrofit of a Brac System in Quebec.

Vincent is well known in the province as the French voice of the Genie in the film Alladin, and the French voice of Mork in the television series Mork and Mindy, as well as French language voiceovers in over 150 radio and television advertisements.

Invermere Update

Good news from Invermere, BC

We received word from Dale Wilker, the Project Manager for Quiniscoe Homes in Invermere, B.C., who we have been working closely with. He reports the following:

"Good news. I have made some good progress with the District of Invermere here... 2 weeks ago the Council approved the use of the Brac system in our subdivision “Carpenters Lane” (previously called Canyon View). This means they will allow us to put it into all 32 units and they will be monitoring it for its performance as compared to a normal home. We should have the first home built by mid next year with all 32 units being completed in 2 years."

Seattle Public Utilities testing W-125 system

The Seattle Public Utilites Department and "The Saving Water Partnership" is installing a W-125 demo tank this week. The system will be undergoing testing to determine the extent of rebates and incentives to be offered for installation by builders and homeowners.

Approval gained in Seattle, King County, WA

Officials for both King County, Washington, and the city of Seattle, have approved the Brac System for use in residential homes. Frederick Winfield & Associates, the Brac Systems distributor for much of the Pacific Northwest, has been working hard to gain approvals in various jurisdictions within their distribution network. We congratulate them on another breakthrough.

More Approvals

Brac Systems has been proactively researching plumbing codes around North America to determine if any approval process is required locally to install the Brac System. After confirmation with local officials, we have determined that the Brac System meets local criteria for acceptance in El Paso, Texas, and the states of Indiana and Alabama.

Our listing in the IAPMO Product Listing Directory, which is formerly known as the IAPMO Directory of Research Recommendations, meets the criteria for acceptance in many more jurisdictions beyond those mentioned in our news releases. We will continue to provide updates on locations where we are compliant with local codes as we discover and confirm them.

Brac Systems displayed at Albuquerque, NM trade show

On April 22 and 23, Brac Systems was on display at the Home and Garden Show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our New Mexico distributor, AQUAsolutions, was able to network with many businesses, plumbers, and contractors. New home builders were particularly excited to discover the product. AQUAsolutions collected many addresses, and got the word out about Brac Systems in a big way.

Plumbing officials in Coquitlam, British Columbia, have approved a pilot project for the Brac System. Near Vancouver, Coquitlam has a population of approximately 110,000. Upon successful completion of the project in a single residence, Brac Systems hopes to gain express approval for use of the Brac System throughout the municipality.

Brac Systems receives Certificate of Listing from IAPMO R&T

Brac Systems has been granted a Certificate of Listing by IAPMO Research and Testing, Inc. IAPMO R&T is the product certification body of the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and is responsible for testing and inspecting products to verify compliance with the requirements of applicable codes and standards. This activity is coupled with the periodic inspection of our factory, as well as the assessment of our Quality Assurance System.
